1960 Chevrolet El Camino DGT6989. VIN # 01280L146989. '59 and 60 El Caminos are getting scarcer and scarcer. The person I bought it from bought it in Sparks, Nv in 2013. He started buying parts for it and getting it ready to paint. He took it to Blade Chevrolet and had it painted. ( see photo ) Paint code 915 Tasco Turquoise. Seat has been reupholstered and door panels also. Powered by what I believe to be the original engine. 283 V-8. It started out as a 2 barrel carb but now has a 4 barrel carb. 3 on the tree. No power steering or brakes. Crager chrome 5 spoke wheels. Has an aftermarket so so radio that works. Heater works. This is a very good driver quality ElCamino. Joe, at Old School Garage, did the service and safety check. Got the gas gauge to work. Took care of some small stuff while doing his inspection. Joe was not happy with the clutch so he installed a new one. There is some rust in the floor pans. They laid fiberglass over the top of the floor pans. Behind the seat is the worst. I know these cars well, my 4th car was a 1960 El Camino with a 348 tri-power and a 4 speed. That was in 1961 and it was fun to drive. Should never have sold it. Cond. # 3.
